The characters. The storyline was Assassin's Creed meets The Hunger Games, fused with ye' olden times and a splash of Pretty Woman (apart from the fact that our heroine isn't a prostitute). But the characters fell flat for me. I find it hard to invest in them when I struggle to pronounce their names.
The characters were boring and the magical aspect only confused me further. I loved the lush surrounds of the palace and the premise of the the story, but it just wasn't for me sadly.
